Rostislav Valvoda is a director of the Prague Civil Society Centre, a new initiative to empower civil societies across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Previously, Rostislav was the head of the East European Programme at People in Need, one of the largest Central European non-profits providing human rights assistance as well as relief and development aid and education, where he introduced assistance programmes in particular for human rights defenders and broader civil society in Russia (including North Caucasus) and Azerbaijan. Rostislav was also one of initiators of EU-Russia Civil Society Forum, a loose network of about 100 NGO from across Russia and the EU, established in 2011 in Prague.
