This working group will examine recent developments in the commercial relationship between Russia and the EU and discuss how it should evolve in the coming decade, especially in a projected scenario of political change in Russia. Can the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union eventually become partners? How can both sides work together to ensure both energy security and action to address climate change? What are the sectoral trends in the two economies that will be the foundation of the commercial relationship in the coming decades? The working group will chart a way forward that assumes the gradual normalisation of economic ties and a more productive, reliable and mutually beneficial long-term partnership.
